Subject: Encoder wiring Leine Linde Combimill
Hi
Just wanted to double check my wiring with you before Its to late :-)

Im replacing my old Siemens Sinumeric 3M with Kanalog and KFlop control boards on my Storebro Combimill from ~1985

My encoders are Leine Linde Optical Incremetal Encoders
5V 1250 pulses/rev

They have (8) wires and this is how I plan to wire them:
(A+) JP1 CHA_DIFFPLUS_0
(A-) JP1 CHA_DIFFMINUS_0
(B+) JP1 CHB_DIFFPLUS_0
(B-) JP1 CHB_DIFFMINUS_0
(Z+) Should these be connected?
(Z-) Should these be connected?
(+5V) JP8 +5V
(GND) JP6 GND

Will I need any resistors for the encoder inputs?

Heres a link to the Combimill wiring diagram
http://maba.unx.se/cnc/Xaxle.jpg

Later I will wire the ±10V to my servos through
(pin 12) JP11 DAC_10V
(pin 13) JP11 GND

Does this seems ok?

Hi Mattias,

That all looks correct to me.

You shouldn't normally need any resistors on the encoder inputs.  Kanalog has 470 ohms internally across the + and - inputs which is usually enough.

The Z inputs are not required.  Sometimes they are used for more accurate homing.  If you wish to connect them they may be connected to any spare differential input.
